Born in Hong Kong, Jeffrey is currently pursuing a degree in Piano Performance at the Royal College of Music, where he studies under Danny Driver. He began his piano studies at the age of four under the guidance of his mother and subsequently trained with Yushu Pei, Qin Rong, and Marie Laure-Muller. His early achievements include Third Prize at the 2012 Hong Kong–Asia Open Piano Competition. In 2015, Jeffrey’s masterclass from Lang Lang at Stowe School played a formative role in shaping his decision to pursue a career as a professional pianist. His artistic development has also been enriched through masterclasses with Martino Tirimo, and John Thwaites, as well as participation in competitions including BBC Young Musician, the Coach House Piano Competition and the Royal Overseas League Competition.

Following relocation to the United Kingdom, Jeffrey continued his studies with Maia Griffin at Stowe School. During this period, he received recognition at the Milton Keynes Festival of Music, where he was a prize-winning finalist for MK Young Musician of the Year between 2016 and 2018. As a concerto soloist, he performed works by Grieg, Liszt, and Tchaikovsky with the Stowe Symphony Orchestra. His recital activity at Stowe includes two solo recitals and a piano duo recital with Craig Greene. In 2025, he presented a piano recital at Leighton Buzzard Library Theatre and played Mendelssohn’s 1st piano concerto at Music Fest Perugia in Italy, Jeffrey will return to the festival again in August 2026 to perform Prokofiev’s 3rd piano concerto.

Alongside his solo performances, Jeffrey is the pianist of the Evlogía Trio and maintains an active engagement in chamber performances and support from professional engagement services provided by the Royal College of Music. He gained valuable mentorships from the likes of Julian Jacobson and Gabrielle Lester. In 2026, Jeffrey gave a debut concert with the ensemble in February at the University Church of the Virgin in Oxford, and recently in April at St James Piccadilly Church in London. The ensemble will also perform at St Pancras Church in May and the Oxford & Cambridge Club in June.

Jeffrey regularly performs with his violinist sister, Audrey Au in a variety of concerts. Their upcoming collaboration includes a violin recital at Leighton Buzzard Theatre in October 2026. Jeffrey currently also serves as pianist for the Buckingham Choral Society.
